Are you wondering how to make bong trees?
Pussy said to the Owl, ‘You elegant fowl!
How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?’
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-tree grows
The greatest love poem of all time deserves to be celebrated this week.
How to make bong trees
I often wondered as a child what a Bong Tree would look like. With a little imagination and a small selection of pipecleaners, bead and sticks, I let my imagination flourish.
May I present the land where the bong trees grow.
Can you imagine sailing up to this the little island to get married by a turkey on a hill then dancing in the moonlight?
I think bringing poetry to life with kids is a lovely way to help them appreciate and engage with it and crafting really helps them conjure images from descriptions.
Pin for later …
