Best Places in Toronto to Visit

Let me share with you the best places in Toronto to visit – the ones that are firmly on my bucket list.

I have been to Toronto before when I was just 19 to visit a friend from University. He had got a job in the city for a few months over the summer and I went to see him for 3 days. We were absolutely skint so my memories are of us wandering the streets and sitting in coffee shops. I didn’t get to see the sights at all but I remember the vibe being super cool and the shops looking amazing. I recall buskers and street artists  and just a brilliant energy.  I have always longed to go back and take a proper good look around.  These are the things I most would like to see and do.

If you are looking to book Toronto holidays you want to make a great itinerary before you go.

Best Places in Toronto to Visit

There are so many fab places to visit in Toronto but absolutely top of my list is ….

Best Places in Toronto to Visit

The CN tower

The CN tower is the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere, and probably the defining symbol of Toronto. You can actually reach the top by traveling in a glass fronted elevator in just 58 seconds even though it is 550 m high. That’s pretty speedy!

From the observation decks on various levels of the building you can see the whole city laid out in all its glory and beyond.  Its also contains a terrifying edge walk, a revolving restaurant, exhibits and a kids play area. At night the whole tower lights up and you simply can’t miss it no matter where you are in Toronto.

Day trip to Niagara Falls

I could not possibly have a vacation to Toronto without a day trip out to Niagara falls – it’s about 3 hours away and the day trip would leave you about 3 hours there to explore, possibly have a boat ride and take photos. It looks spectacular and some of the tours even include wine tasting at a local winery – sounds good to me.

St Lawrence Market

I am a massive foodie and this market sounds absolutely fantastic. It is over 200 years old and has over 120 farmers and bakers and makers selling their fabulous food. It calls itself Toronto’s prettiest market and I cannot wait to see it one day and try everything!

High Park

High park in the centre of urban Toronto looks like the best place to take the picnic foods I would have picked up from  St Lawrence market. It has over 50 walking trails, a picnic area and kids playground and a greenhouse. It also has a magnificent flower bed in the shape of a maple leaf.  There is a even a small zoo, tennis courts and iceskating –  one busy but beautiful looking park.

Graffiti Alley

I love street art,  just not when it appears on the site of a classy building and looks out of place. These alleys are however dedicated to street art and are apparently full of the most amazing art. I love that it has been given it’s own space would adore a visit.

I could go on and on as there are so many things to see and do there. Picking the best places in Toronto to visit has been really tough.

Have you been to Toronto and if you have where would you recommend visiting?
